:-: PUMPKIN PATCH PICTURE TIME :-:

There's still time to pick up a pumpkin!

Lombardi Ranch Pumpkin Festival has a pumpkin patch, wagon rides, and even a corn maze!

The maze was fun but it would have been better at nighttime.  It was way too hot to be wandering around a corn maze in the Santa Clarita afternoon heat.  I probably inhaled about a pound of dirt, too, but I had fun nonetheless.

They had a very large selection of pumpkins to choose from and the pumpkins were reasonably priced.

I was fixing my hair in between shots and the picture below looks as if I was trying to snap a sexy pose.  In a pumpkin patch.  I think today has just been a long day, but I thought it was funny.  Do you have any pumpkin patch pictures to share?

:-: SPOOKY SPRINKLES CUPCAKES :-:

I was near the Sprinkles in Beverly Hills the weekend before last, but didn't want to deal with parking, so I saved my cupcake adventure for this past weekend.  I mean, I was at The Grove anyway, and they were right there…

I did manage to show some restraint, though.  I bought a box of 4 instead of 6.  And yes, I'm sharing.

Too bad Sprinkles doesn't sell the pumpkin cupcakes on Sundays.  I should have checked the flavor menu first.  Guess I'll have to make another trip on a different day.  It won't fill up my bingo card, but at least my tummy will be happy!

Oh, and FYI - the "special" cupcakes of the day won't get you a stamp on your bingo card.

:-: HELLO KITTY HUNGRY HUNT :-:

PINK cheeseburgers?

Super cute adorable food made just for Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary?
Now that's my kind of treasure hunt.  Count me in!

Here's the deal:  From Friday, 10/24/14 until 11/21/14, select restaurants will be creating special Hello Kitty themed menu items and selling special pins that correlate to each item.

You can find all of the detailed information on the Hungry Hunt Map.

There will be 11 locations.  My goal is to find them all and share them with you
(hopefully the pins don't disappear before I get a chance to visit each of the participating locations).

Please leave me a comment below if you'll be joining the hunt, too.  I am ridiculously excited for this event to to start and would love hear about your Hello Kitty Hungry Hunt experiences and see all of your lovely pictures.

Hopefully you had a chance to buy your Hello Kitty Con tickets because the event has sold out!

:-: FRIDAY NIGHT KITTY :-:

I had a cutie pie surprise waiting for me when I got home last Friday!

This cute little Hello Kitty figurine was on my dresser when I got home.  CVS carries a few variations if you want to add one to your collection.

:-: THE COUNTER :-:

Step up to The Counter to build your own burger!

My burger, below, included the things I checked off on the menu above.

My first thought was that this burger was good, but nothing to write home about.  And here I am blogging about it.  It's a burger, though, and as my blog has developed, burgers have become an essential element!
So I couldn't not write about it.

M's burger had yet another egg on it, and it tasted much better than mine.  But my horseradish aioli was the best of the bunch. It went really well with my sweet potato fries.

Have you been to one of these locations before?  Do you have a super awesome combo that would merit a second trip worthwhile?  Please let me know.

:-: TOPSHOP A WALL OF PLANTS :-:

Want to hear something embarrassing?

I've been to the Beverly Center and Westfield Century City several times each, and for some reason I always thought that the Beverly Center was an indoor mall and if you went outside it was the Westfield mall.  Haha.  So wrong.  They're two separate places.  Like not even close to each other.  So much for my sense of direction.

I prefer the stores at the Beverly Center, but these pictures were taken at Westfield Century City.  I think the wall of plants is very cool, hence the reason most of my pictures are mostly of plants and not of me and my outfit.

:-: CRYSTALS & COMETS :-:

Hello!

I'm more than ready for sweater weather, but until then, I'll just keep myself busy with some
BaubleBar bling.

The Sweater Weather Candle is one of my newer additions, and it's smells nice and fresh.  To me, the scent is similar to the apple candle that Bath & Body Works carries all year long, but according to the description, there is no apple whatsoever in this candle.  So maybe I should get my nose checked.
Or just stick to my all-time favorite candle: Pumpkin Cupcake.

The necklace closest to the candle is the Classic Crystal Strand in Rose Gold (60").  When I think of BaubleBar, I think of statement necklaces.  So when I first received this, I was a little disappointed because it looked so dinky.  It's a very delicate necklace that tangles easily once you take it off, so it's probably best if you just lay it flat when you store it.  The first time I took mine off, I closed the clasp then carefully put it back in its little dust bag, but it still got tangled and getting the knot out was a pain.  Not to mention I was afraid the necklace would break with all the pulling I had to do to get it back to normal.

With that aside, once I put this necklace on, I ended up wearing it three days in a row.  It stands out, but it's still appropriate for everyday use - even at the office.

The outer necklace is the Stardust Comet Collar.  I was very happy when I opened up the box and saw this one.  It has bright colors and the gold flecks on the jewels are something different.  I can't wait to pair this with some outfits.

Does anyone have either of these necklaces?  I'd love to see how you paired these with different outfits. Or, you can use the coupon code below to buy new pieces.

Valid through 10/16/14
at 11:59 PM EST.

:-: LUSHOWEEN :-:

Lushoween is finally here!

Sometimes I think it might be more cost effective if I just quit my current job and start working at Lush instead. But then again, the employee discount might just take my Lush addiction to a scary(ier) level.
Woooahhhooo!~ (that was supposed to be a scary ghost sound, FYI).

Sparkly Pumpkin (left); Wizard (right)

I didn't feel like driving to Santa Monica and dealing with the weekend crowds or paying for parking at
Universal Citywalk, so I went to the Lush store at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

Fairy Ring (front); Sparkler (left); Northern Lights (right)

The two items that look like sidewalk chalk are bath bombs in disguise; I can't wait to try them out and see what colors they turn the water.  I picked up all of the halloween offerings except for the Wizard Hat.  I'll never wear it, so I figured I'd just put that money towards xmas goodies - like Lord of Misrule, which is available now, but I usually save it for Christmastime.

:-: HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS 2014 :-:

Just picture yourself walking through a street filled with Christmas decorations, with fog so thick you can barely see anything in front of you, and having people in costumes jump out and scare you.  Or, prepare to walk through a long, dark tunnel filled with zombies chasing after you
(some actually touched me, which is against the rules, but whatever).

Last year was the first time I went, and I bought general admission tickets.  The lines were so long that I only had a chance to do a handful of things, so this year I opted for Front of Line passes.  There's also a VIP experience, but I wasn't quite ready to shell out that much money.
Maybe next year.  One step at a time.

Universal Studios only sells a limited number of tickets each night - and it always sells out - so I recommend buying your tickets early.  You can purchase them in advance online.  Ticket prices vary based on the specific day you attend, but here's a general idea of what to expect:

General Admission:  $79 per person
Front of Line Pass: $149 per person
VIP Experience:  $249 per person

I went last Saturday and the park was open from 7:00 pm - 2:00 am.

If you end up buying a general admission ticket, you might not have enough time to go through all of the mazes since the average wait time can be around 1.5 hours per maze.  If you have a Front of Line pass, then there is absolutely no waiting.  You just walk straight to the entrance, the attendant scans the barcode on your badge, then you can go to each maze or house without having to wait in line with everyone else.

It was definitely worth the investment.  I went through all of the mazes and a couple of rides and finished before midnight.  That includes all the time I spent walking around the park.  There was sooo much walking, so wear comfortable shoes.  You'll thank me later.

Regardless of what type of ticket your purchase, it should be super fun times.  Make sure you check out the Face Off Maze and the Terror Tram.  Those were my favorites.

:-: ANNABELLE :-:

About those scary movies…

Friday included a routine visit to Arclight to watch Annabelle.

Here's how the movie falls on my not-so-sophisticated rating scale:

Insidious - very good
The Conjuring - good
Annabelle - good

I don't want to give away any parts of the movie, so I'll just say that it's worth a trip to the theatre -   especially since it's Halloween month.  It really should be mandatory.

And since we're in the lovely month of October, I brought a special outside snack with me:

Candy corn (yay for pure sugar)!

:-: ORANGE & BLACK :-:

Happy October!

September 23 was officially the first day of fall this year, but since it’s still so hot outside, it hasn’t really felt like it.

I missed Lush’s special shark week soap (it sold out so fast) back in August, then was traveling outside of L.A. most weekends in September, so I really wasn’t feeling my blog and decided to just take a little break.

Knowing that I have access to pumpkin spice lattes, fall scented candles and all things Halloween will definitely get my blog back on track.

It’s finally time for fun decorations, costumes and never-ending scary movies on TV!

Now I’ll have an excuse to wear my boots and scarves.  Well, it’s not as though I wasn’t already wearing them during summer (because it’s really cold in my office), but at least I’ll look a little less crazy now.  That’s always a plus.

AND

I’m so excited for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights this weekend!  I’ll be sure to post details about the experience in case anyone is planning on going later this month.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for other fun Halloween things to do.

Thanks for reading!
