:-: SDCC2015: THE WALKING DEAD :-:

The very first thing we did at Comic Con was miss The Walking Dead panel.  Way to kick off the festivities, right??  Oh, well.  Now we know better for next year that if we really want to see a panel, we should probably save our spots the night before.  By getting wristbands, I mean.  I'm not down with staying outside all night long in a sleeping bag.

Anyway, there was something inside the convention center that kind-of, sort-of (not really) made up for missing the live panel.

Walker Stalker Con, maybe you should take a note.  Or, if the same people coordinated both events, then way to improve!  You know why it was an improvement?

Because there were actually WALKERS.

I was having so much fun that I couldn't even keep a scared face.
Guess there goes any chance of me ever getting to play a walker on the show.

And to top it all off, we exited by going through a delivery truck filled with…

you guessed it…more walkers.

Was that so difficult??

Did anyone else get a chance to check this out?  How did you like it?  Did you get a "W" temporarily tattooed on your forehead?

Thanks for reading!

:-: SDCC2015: WE'RE GONNA 'GIT YA :-:

Ready for some Friday trivia?

Then get ready for my first Comic Con post!

M and I wanted to go in an old school costume.  And we switched it up by being villains.
Can you guess who we are?

Hint:  We're characters from an old arcade game.

Thanks for [guessing and] reading!

:-: PRINCESS CAKES ARE MY FAVORITE :-:

While we're on the subject of having a sweet tooth, I've been searching for a great (not just good) princess cake in LA.

The best princess cake EVER is from Schubert's Bakery in San Francisco.

But that doesn't help me when I'm in LA, which means Ikea princess cakes it is.  Actually, they're pretty good considering they've been frozen.

Anyway, I told M that I wanted princess cake recently, and he took me to a Viktor Bene's Bakery located inside of a Gelson's supermarket.  And, without even asking, he didn't even buy me a slice.  He bought the whole cake.  That's love.

It was good, but not great.  Not like that stopped me from eating it all, but hey, I guess I just have to keep eating more princess cakes until I find an LA favorite.  Then I can just eat lots of my LA favorite.  :)

I've looked up a couple of other places that I'll be trying and will share those with you, but if you have any suggestions for princess cakes in the LA area, let me know!

:-: I'VE GOT A SWEET TOOTH :-:

I've been meaning to share this amazingly delicious treat with you:

It's a brown butter rice krispy treat from Stella Barra Pizzeria.  And it's ridiculously amazing.  Trust me.

M and I went to Stella Barra for dinner when they first opened.  The pizza was not good and it was overpriced, but Yelpers seems to think otherwise, so maybe things are better now.  But I've never eaten here again.  I just pop in for this deliciousness.  It took me months to finally post this because I usually inhale it as soon as it makes it into my hands, and then I think, oops…I was supposed to post that.  So, many months later, here you go.

Any random treats you'd like to share with me??

:-: FIREWORKS AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL :-:

Happy very super late Fourth of July!

It seems as though M and I are always stuck in Hollywood Bowl traffic, but we had never actually gone to a show to see what all the commotion was about.

Smokey still gets down, and the show was lots of fun!  We really enjoyed ourselves.

We packed a picnic basket (which was actually a tote bag) and ate lots of food while we watched the show.  As you can see, I was very focused on making snacks and not spilling my wine.  I thought I was being smart by bringing my durable red party cups, but some people were super fancy and brought actual wine glasses.  I guess they've been there before and that's just how they roll.

I will be back.

:-: BIGGEST. PIZZA. EVER. SERIOUSLY :-:

Don't you just hate it when your real job gets in the way of your blog?
Haha.  Just kidding.  (Not really.)

I have so much to catch up on!  In the past month, I worked a lot, but I also got to play a lot, too!  I went to a wedding in Texas, I finally watched a show at the Hollywood Bowl, AND AND...
I went to San Diego Comic Con 2015!!!  Life goals, people.  Life goals.

Texas was disgustingly hot and humid and we spent most of our days eating.  We went to Fort Worth and ate lots of food.  We went to Austin and ate lots of food.  Then we went to San Antonio and ate (part of) the largest pizza I have ever seen in my life.

Big Lou's Pizza was the most memorable thing I ate in Texas.

42" Pepperoni Pizza

The pizza was surprisingly good, too.  I thought it would just be a cool giant pizza that tasted like cardboard, but I actually want to go back one day and eat this again.  It tasted really fresh but was also nice and greasy (the way pepperoni pizza is meant to be eaten) - if that even makes sense.  You can check out their menu here.

Oh, and Texas still lets everyone use styrofoam (sorry, environment).  And shopping bags are free.  Just sayin'.

Stay tuned for my Hollywood Bowl post and lots of Comic Con posts.  Better late than never, right?

Thanks for reading!
